Even Animals Eat Sprouts...

Toronto Sprouts had a surplus crop of sunflower sprouts and pea shoots recently, so we decided to donate to the animals at the Toronto Zoo. They made their respective noises for joy at the news! (As a side note, did you know that the Toronto Zoo is open 364 days a year? The animals get a holiday on Christmas).

Speaking of animals, Victoria Boutenko (multiple-time Toronto Sprouts guest speaker) has an essay entitled “Ode to the Green Smoothie” where she talks about an easy way to get greens into your system, and why it’s important to do so. She references her studies of the chimpanzee and their eating habits. The chimpanzee was chosen because it is the closest animal to a human. In fact we share 99.4% of your DNA with the chimpanzee. To read Ode to the Green Smoothie and some background about it, check this out. This is all part of the research for her book called Green for Life, which we also recommend checking out.http://www.seekeronline.org/journals/y2005/nov05.htmlshapeimage_4_link_0
